stranger

Who is the stranger in my bed?
Were we really in love once?
It all feels so hazy and distant now…
this stranger was my love somehow…
was it love or just a delusion?
i am just a mass of confusion…

Shraddha

PS: This post is my entry for One single Impression this week.Prompt : the stranger

The tragedy and beauty of love, so fragile, yet so powerful, so strong, yet so wrong, so happy….one time…..now……..so sad….and sad again……..

watch the bird his little wings
    take him to the sky
careful not to say a thing
    but wishing you could fly

  6. 6

Sadly this happens. Maybe we always have delusions, which can change with time.
    Excellently done.

Feel sad ! Dont know what to say !

Even though you’ve put it beautifully into words, the sadness rifts thru them.

    Be strong!

  12. 12

You’ve summed up strong and raw emotions so very well in this post. I wish I could be so eloquent and yet so succinct! Fantastic!!

  13. 13

I liked that, very well written. And really liked the picture too!!

Stopping by via another blog, had a brainfart and forgot where I just came from. O’well, doesn’t matter, I’m here now! LOL

So sad. So true. I lived in that neighborhood for awhile in my “previous life” :)

You evoke serious, SERIOUS deja vu for me with this poem. Thank God the memory is 37 years in the past.

  16. 16

I would imagine a lot of us “old married folk” have thought this at one time or another – or many times :D

    intense!

I have been there – it’s a scary place to be. It is heartbreaking, in fact. Yet out of the dark came blinding, love-filled light. I would never have imagined…

… that we are always blessed.

Such moments of awareness have a way of appearing suddenly somehow.

Great words there… Loved your take on the prompt..
Many have gone through such experiences.. of having a loved one turning into a stranger…

  23. 23

it’s odd – at first they are strangers turned to lovers…then everything flips back.

  24. 24

Very well written. Such bitter truths are best expressed through poetry.

  25. 25

Oh, oh, Shraddha, you found a little nerve here with this old guy (are you sure you aren’t doing dental work on the side?).
I will have been divorced now for forty years come August and I still have these thoughts. Of course they are in my mind now and would never, never, materialize again.
    ..
BTW, I am sorry but when I returned your visit from my OSI I did not get to this page. I am glad I found yours here.
