One Single Impression Prompt – Elusive

Did you set out to catch that thing again?
Don’t you know better?
How can you do this again?
Like a butterfly, it won’t get caught
Just set yourself free
Let go of all expectations
and what you see?
its sitting right there on your palm..

The magic of Happiness Quotient
Begins with mind
Let go of anything that starts with ‘if only’
Be thankful
Be grateful
Lower your expectations
Forgive
Its easier said than done
But rewards are tangible my friend!

I love this poem. Things usually do end up being right smack in front of us. We just need to open our eyes more often!

Nice thought to begin my day with!
    Thanks Shradda!

Beautiful words, and exquisite photos. I love butterflies, and the journey they take to get to where they desire to be .. over and over again.

  11. 11

I enjoyed this. I have a friend who is always “if onlying” me, and it drives me nuts, leaving me feeling inadequate. Here and now. That’s it.

Wow, Shrads! This is nice. If only I could have written like this! I had a few romantic words but they slipped away and now I have nothing. :-)

A refreshing, creative post! This melee of quotes from legends plus your own poetry certainly shake around the idea that happiness is something to chase!

Love that first line, it’s sounds like the beginning of a novel, “Did you set out to catch that thing again?” Could be anything at all we’re always after. Tremendous set of photos, and loved all the quotes.

  28. 28

This is a lovely piece! Overflowing with truth in such a sweet way. Love the quotes at the end too. Oh and such wonderful images to support your tale.

  29. 29

Ah, that elusive happiness, so close and yet it exceeds our grasp! I found out I have to give myself permission to BE happy. Once I did, good things came forth. Nice poem and great photos used to illustrate it! I like all the various quotes at the bottom. I don’t quite agree with the line about lowering your expectations, but I suppose it matters what situation you are in! sometimes we do expect too much.

“Did you set out to catch that thing again?
    Don’t you know better?”

So much wisdom here. How can you catch something that is already gone? And if you catch it in your net, will either of you be free?

  31. 31

What an excellent post! The pictures are divine as is the poem and the quotes. This was a treat!
