Preemies

*As a mom of  preemie twin girls who were born 7 weeks early, i feel it is my duty to talk about Prematurity.Today is Prematurity Awareness Day and this month is Prematurity Awareness Month.*

I have been pretty distracted this month with several things but i did manage to write few things about journey with prematurity.

1. From Womb to an Incubator How The Story Began

2. P is for Preemie About one of my girls receiving CPAP

3. Picking Berries Need for locked down mode.

I was just overwhelmed at that point as one of my daughters had been quite sick.Well, since then doctor has decided to put an ear tube for her to prevent too many infections.Things are going good otherwise, they go for a music class thrice a week in the evenings now, and it has only 5 children including them, in some ones home, so its pretty safe and clean.

I also wrote 2 poems on these ladies i had known who lost their babies to prematurity..

Poem 1

Poem 2

Things i wanted to cover but got distracted…

Gestational Diabetes that i suffered during pregnancy.
Speech Therapy that my daughters received for 6 months( and they sing several songs now)
Developmental Peds

Our family is one of the lucky ones but there are many who have to live with disability.I wanted to write on that.

Also i wanted to write a small poem on this little boy who could not go to Disney on his 5th birthday.I know there are so many of us who pray for this little boy daily, but i was not sure if it was a good idea.

Also Kathy @ Straw Berry Seeds who is my good bloggy friend and agreed to write a blog post about being an NICU nurse. It was supposed to be today but she still needs to get back to me on that one.

A very important info regarding today is that we are trying to have this as a trending topic on twitter. We need as much support as we can get. Please tweet anything regarding Prematurity but add hashtag #fight4preemies with it.If we all participate we might be able to do it.
