‘Hanukkah’ the eight day festival of lights starts on friday!
This calls for Adam Sandler’s famous song on Hanukkah!

Slide12
If we explore cultures we find that so many festivals are called “festival of lights”, some that i have found are Diwali , Hanukkah and Karthigai Deepam.

Bibi has mastered the first 4, most important lines of a very difficult song.

Jaya Jaya Devi Daya Lahari.
Janani Saraswathi Paalayamam.
Amale Kamala Sanasahithe.
Adbutha Charithe Palaya Maam

Here is the song sung by elder girls.Bibi sings in a different tune and still needs to learn all the highs and lows but she has got the words right and we plan to make her sing for grandma on her dad’s birthday!

Fifi and Bibi also sit like these girls and are learning Talam with their right hand.

Also Christmas season is in full gear!I am supposed to make ginger bread house and cookies with the girls!I have already braught the ingredients, so may be tomorrow!
I made my blog header snowy and Christmas like.I adore it!

    I like your blog :-)

  25. yonca says:

Happy Hanukkah! Love the new look. My son is still waiting for snow. He is planning to make the biggest snowman ever:)

  26. The Adam Sandler song was new to me, thanks! But the candlestick you showed is NOT a menorah. Menorahs have EIGHT candles plus a lighter one, or shamash candle, so there are nine altogether. Love the diversity on here.

  27. azfree says:

No matter what you celebrate and what you do or don’t believe, the message of light is a good one. So often we are so bogged down in the darkness, it’s nice to have a season where we remember the light.
