A miracle that happened
It lit that vessel
For eight days , not one
To celebrate the miracle
Menorah is now a tradition
Hanukkah is to light our hearts
Take the darkness away
Inner light that we all have
Shines brighter with our faith
As one lights another
Positive vibration reverberates
Peace and joy accentuates
So precious and great
Randomness of dreidel’s spin
num, gimmel, hey or shin
Keep on playing
Till your kupah is filled
Cooked with oil
Latkes and Sufganiyot
Liked by all
Bonding for families
Young or Old
Story of miracle
Children are told
Gelt is sought after
Money or chocolate
You decide
Blessings from Rebbe
Brings joy and pride
Has this hindu got it right?
Exploring cultures with all my might
Do let me know
What i missed
What i did not get right

That was a great poem!
I wanted to let you know that I have an award waiting for you on my blog. Also wanted to let you know that I’m following your blog.
Hi Shraddha,
I put your button on my blogroll.
Beautiful poem! I love it.
very nice, Shraddha
not sure if you’ve got it right – but I enjoyed your poem. And that reminds me that my son used to love to play the dreidel game. (He got one at school for some reason) – I need to dig it out!
This was awesome!! I loved it. Thanks for a great post that left me smiling.
Your exploring of cultures has enlightned me a little more about Hanukkah..very nicely written.
Cheers!
What a great poem. I’m Catholic, but have many Jewish friends, and I love celebrating their traditions with them…especially latkes! I don’t think I spelled it correctly, but they’re so good!
Happy Hanukkah!
What a nice idea you are continuing to explore–well done!
Love the way you are so inclusive of every one!
I love the way you are exploring cultures this season.

Lovely.. Thanks for educating another ignorant ‘hindu’. Good start to my morning!
Lovely poem, I have to admit I do not know much about hanukkah but it sounds lovely.
I’m pretty sure you got it all correct.
Lovely poem, well written and inciteful,
I, too love how you are inclusive of all cultures, and so non-judgemental.
Have a wonderful holiday season.
